The 20 Worst Wrestling Gimmicks →
(via Heavy.com)
Wrestling occasionally unleashes some awesome gimmicks – see Hulk Hogan joining the NWO for an example parodied even today – but for every Hogan heel turn, there’s the stuff that flops. Whether it’s a crazed…uh, IRS Agent, Robocop suddenly deciding he’s going to chill out with Sting, or Karl Malone hyped as a wrestling star when he’s notable for collapsing every time he played Jordan, wrestling is full of ideas that flopped. These are some of the best of the worst ideas and gimmicks in the history of professional wrestling.

Fightin' Fanboys: Avengers Assemble (WWE) →
When threats no single champion can stand against threaten the Marvel Universe, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes come together and the Avengers stand assembled.
When obstacles no solitary World Wrestling Entertainment Superstar can handle alone-like eliminating The Big Show from a battle royal-occur, WWE’s best and brightest will usually form brief alliances before turning on one another, but hey, it’s something.
With AVENGERS #1 currently on stands and WWE’s Over The Limit event coming to pay-per-view this Sunday, we asked four of our favorite Fightin’ Fanboys-and one brand new Fightin’ Fangirl-to select which Superstars and heroes they’d bring together to lead into battle in the squared circle or Marvel Universe as their very own Avengers.

Home of Florida Championship Wrestling
For nearly half a century, Florida Championship Wrestling has been the Sunshine State’s primary wrestling promotion. Now officially sanctioned and recently reorganized by WWE, FCW has also become the training ground for future WWE Superstars.
Under the tutelage and leadership of Florida wrestling legend Steve Keirn, FCW’s goal for the fans is simple: To give them a glimpse at the potential Superstars of tomorrow, while providing exciting ring action that leaves the entire family with smiles on their faces.
Beyond the strength of its global-sized management and corporate backing, Florida Championship Wrestling is at heart an organization that is local and charitable. Hosting fundraisers with the Pasco Police Athletic League (PAL) and the Youth of Pasco Football League, FCW’s very first show was a monstrous success, raising more than $12,000 for the Angelus fund. The organization is also scheduled to work with the SPCA Humane Society later this year, and is proud to continue its support of various local causes throughout the Sunshine State.
The key objective within Florida Championship Wrestling is to train the next generation of WWE Superstars. FCW takes enormous pride in its live events all over the southeast, and in promoting tryouts at the organization’s Tampa location to showcase young men and women interested in a career as a sports-entertainer. Florida Championship Wrestling looks forward to the future, and wholeheartedly encourages anyone who has ever had the dream or desire to take the first step and contact us.

The 2009 Kick-Out!! Awards →
Forget the Slammys. Razor over at Kick-Out!! Wrestling has posted his awards for 2009. Listed are best TV Match of the Year, WTF?! Moment of the Year, PPV of the Year, Feud of the Year, Finisher of the Year, Feel Good Moment of the Year, NASTY! Moment of the Year, Breakthrough Star of the Year, Tag Team of the Year, Match of the Year, and the coveted Superstar of the Year.
(spoiler for 1 award) I actually agree with his picks this year, except for one. Don’t get me wrong, John Morrison vs. Rey Mysterio deserves to be his pick, and it’s my 2nd place pick, but I would have to go with Tyler Black vs. Bryan Danielson 3. That match alone is the reason you should be watching Ring of Honor.
